Rules for governing the conduct of meetings for the Auxiliary shall be as prescribed in the Ritual. Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised and the VFW Auxiliary Ritual and Podium Book shall govern on all points not covered in these Bylaws.

Gifts:

The Auxiliary President will pay for the Department President’s official visit love gifts. Auxiliary will pay $40.00 travel pay for the Department President traveling outside of Fallon. Auxiliary will pay $30.00 in gas money for the District President traveling.

President:

The President shall have a discretionary fund of up to $200 for incidental expenses that may arise between meetings--including, but not limited to promotional marketing for auxiliary events, convention advertising, and any expenses necessary to the ongoing operation of the auxiliary.  Anything beyond $200 would require a vote during the next regularly scheduled meeting,

Chaplain:

The chaplain has a $50.00 allowance to spend per situation without pre-approval. The chaplain shall turn bill over to the treasurer for reimbursement.

Treasurer:

The treasurer has the authority in good supply at their discretion to include amounts needed to make copies of Silver Notes for new members, as well as purchase pins, rituals, stationary, stamps, etc. The treasurer shall pay all the obligations of Auxiliary 1002.

2. Department Hospital Fund "Christmas” $40.00 annually

3. National Home NV $10.00 annually

4. National President’s Project $25.00 annually

5. Cancer Aid and Research $2.00 per member

Membership:

Membership dues: New-$35.00 Annual-$30.00

Members will be charged a $0.25 fine each for not wearing membership pin, or do not have membership card. No members shall be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages, smoke cigarettes, use electronic smoking devices or patronize the canteen during auxiliary meetings. Cell phones shall be turned off or put on vibrate during auxiliary meetings. Should cell phone ring during meetings, member shall be charged a $5.00 fine.

Department Convention and Mid-Winter Conference

Auxiliary will pay for representative’s banquet meal only. Representative must attend all business meetings.

National Convention:

Auxiliary will pay $100.00 to each delegate, 2 delegates and 2 alternates, designated to represent the auxiliary to assist in the convention expenses and use at their own discretion. Any increases must be brought before the membership for approval. Representatives must attend all business meetings.

Voice of Democracy & Patriotic Pen:

The auxiliary is authorized to pay half, with the VFW Post # 1002, for the cost of VOD and Patriotic Pens awards.

Communication and Authorized Representatives:

Any communications with outside organizations, vendors, partners, or other third parties will only occur with expressed approval of the Auxiliary President or their designated representative.  

Recording of Meetings:

Section I-6 of the Booklet of Instructions allows a Secretary to record the minutes of a meeting to supplement their notes.  To ensure accurate notetaking and reporting of the minutes, official communications, and discussions of business presented during each meeting, Auxiliary 1002 members consent to being recorded (in an audio format) by the Secretary, Assistant Secretary, or Secretary Pro-tem during monthly meetings.   Recording to be halted as needed, on a case-by-case basis, by a vote of the membership.  Recordings to be deleted no later than 30 days following approval of those minutes.

Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages during Auxiliary functions:

Section 902D of the National Bylaws, pertaining to the prohibition of consumption of alcohol during auxiliary meetings, shall hereafter be construed to also apply to any/all auxiliary events.  Exceptions to this prohibition during auxiliary events will be permitted at the discretion of the Auxiliary President on a case-by-case basis, when it is deemed to be conducive and essential to collaboration and cooperation between the auxiliary and comrades.  During any exceptions, members will conduct themselves with the dignity that is expected of the organization.

Waiver of Two-Consecutive Meeting Rule:

The portion of Section 809B of the National Bylaws, pertaining to removal of elected officers based on two consecutive absences, shall be waived on a case-by-case basis by majority vote of all members present.

Review of and Revision to Standing Rules:

Standing Rules are to be reviewed and revised as needed, each year following the installation of new officers.
